About Us

Goal One Coalition is the only statewide organization in Oregon dedicated to helping local people become involved in development and land use planning decisions within their communities and regions. We are a nonprofit public interest organization that champions the role of citizens in creating communities that are livable and economies that are sustainable, within a healthy and diverse natural environment. Our central office is located in Eugene, with a satellite office in Lebanon.

We assist individuals, neighborhood groups, and other organizations in their efforts to:

Rowena Crest- protect our waters, farms, rangelands, forests, coasts, and other natural landscapes from loss and degradation

- work for compact, livable, and vibrant cities

- advocate for sustainable and equitable economies

- promote viable options for addressing energy and climate change issues

Our most important task is to encourage and help people take charge of their own future. To promote this mission we provide:

Siltcoos Lake- timely information, comprehensive education, and strategic advice about how Oregon’s land use planning system works

- professional legal guidance and technical assistance with land use issues

- communications strategies and media training for effective citizen advocacy

- outreach tools and networking skills for successful community organizing

- opportunities for pro-active citizen involvement

We are committed to working with local people to envision, create, and maintain an accessible and empowering land use system that promotes responsible, sustainable decisions about how we use and renew our precious resources, ensuring their availability and integrity for future generations.
