About Us

The Goal One Coalition mission is to engage Oregon citizens in the project of rising to the twin challenges of peak oil and climate change.

Our activities in support of citizens include:

  • A blog and e-mail news letter with articles from a variety of publications about global warming, energy and land use.
  • Participating through research and  presentations designed to inform citizens and state and local governments of the long term  impact of laws, regulations and land use actions.
  • Support for citizen efforts in a limited number of  land use cases. Our scant resources preclude our providing legal or financial support.

We believe that one essential tool to meet these challenges is the creation of communities within which all people can thrive personally and economically in an energy constrained world.  These communities can come about only through citizens changing the way their governments plan for development and through citizens modifying their own lifestyles.

We are a nonprofit public interest organization that champions the role of citizens in creating communities within which all people can thrive personally and and economically in an energy-constrained world while maintaining healthy and intact global and local ecosystems.

We assist individuals, neighborhood groups, and other organizations in their efforts to:

Rowena Crest
