July 2009 second warmest on record

NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS) has determined that July of 2009 was the second warmest July globally, since records were first kept starting in 1880.  Only July 2002 was warmer.

The image below shows the July 2009 anomalies across the globe (warm is red, cool is blue).
